I have lizards, tortoises, and a snake that hang out near my patio. I enjoy watching them go about their business…and all the birds.

Good stuff. Not being a poetry lover, your works give me hope that perhaps there is a future for it after all here and there on WordPress, but man it’s hard to find poetry I like on WP. I realize your approach is uniquely you, but just to let you know my immediate reaction, reminded me of Watership Down. Kind of Far-Side-ish, in poetry. Love it, Nature is so interesting and wonderful, full of insights, beyond the so common emphasis on human-centric perspectives, relationship angst, spiritual desperation and political worries. And all this time, there it is, Nature, always.

I appreciate your comments Pytho. I was raised on a lot of Far Side, Shel Silverstein, Ronald Dahl, and Mad magazines. (Not to mention personal favorites Calvin and Hobbes.)
Nature has no reason to do anything but exist in all its beauty, both profound and amazing. I really do see so many parallels that often get ignored because we are too busy existing ourselves to notice. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Thanks trE. I used to spend days exploring the grass with a magnifying glass, watching this bustling micro world beneath my feet. I also remember learning to mow the lawn my dad made me redo it because I didn’t make straight lines. Haha Now I’m a pro at lawns and negotiating.
