Simple things, the child’s continued attempt until they get it right and accomplish the thing that meant everything, the adult receiving acclaim but secretly longing for something else, something quieter, unimportant to the works at large, no acclaim attached but meaning worlds on a personal level. while humorous, it seemed to me there was a moral to the poem. ‘Have-nots’ look at the ‘Haves’ and assume they’re supremely happy with their lives, but there are always sources of discontent. But then, I have a tendency to ‘overthink’ things 😉
